Foster + Partners Master Class on Sustainable Architecture and Major Project Review
An ambitious project is underway to construct the World Trade Centre Yerevan, a high-rise tower covering over 40 floors and 120 square meters. The project, estimated at £180 million, will transform the centre of Yerevan. The Armenian state is expected to hold 50% equity in the venture. The project owner sought collaboration with UK-based engineering, architecture, and design firms to bring this vision to life. They connected with several leading UK companies, paving the way for high-quality partnerships.
Foster + Partners’Involvement
The renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners has already signed a non-disclosure agreement with the project team. Their delegation, led by Juan Frigerio (Partner Architect) and Niall Dempsey (Senior Partner), visited Armenia. The purpose of their visit was to get a detailed look at the Yerevan project and meet with Armenian state officials. This allowed them to assess the pproject’sscope and discuss how their sustainable design expertise could be integrated.
Master Class on Sustainable Architecture
During their visit, Foster + Partners also contributed to the local architectural community. They hosted a master class session titled “Foster + Partners Sustainable Architecture“ on Thursday, May 25, at noon. A wide range of attendees joined the session, including architects, real estate developers, students, and media representatives. Armenian government officials were also present.
The session provided insights into Foster + Partners’ approach to sustainability in architecture. This principle guides many of their global projects. The event fostered discussions on Yerevan’s urban future and how sustainability should influence AArmenia’s growth.
Strengthening UK-Armenia Collaboration
This visit marked a crucial point in the growing collaboration between Armenia and UK-based firms. The World Trade Centre Yerevan project is not only a significant development for the city but also a symbol of the expanding partnerships Armenia is building. With Foster + Partners involved, the project benefits from world-class design expertise that aligns with modern sustainability goals.
