Ranked as the #1 tech ecosystem in Europe and #3 globally, the UK is the home of technology and the ideal place for businesses to expand and go global.
Last month, at the invitation of the British Embassy Yerevan, more than 40 Armenian tech companies attended London Tech Week – the UK’s greatest festival of technology. The event provided Armenian delegates with a rare opportunity to get tips for pitching for funding, connect with investors, and receive a wealth of expertise and contacts needed to explore and leverage the UK’s £1 trillion world-class tech ecosystem.
Armenia’s ICT sector already has strong links with the UK, but there is a growing appetite among innovative companies in Armenia to scale up and internationalise through accessing the UK’s world class entrepreneurial ecosystem, and act as potential partners for UK corporations to contract research and development.
The Embassy and the Department for Business & Trade also organised a “United Kingdom, Springboard for Growth” event during London Tech Week, which was hosted by Mr. Kenan Poleo, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and was attended by H.E. Varuzhan Nersesyan, the Armenian Ambassador to the UK. The event showcased how the UK is the ideal base for Armenian businesses to expand globally by hearing from those that have already expanded to the UK, while raising capital and scaling up their operations.
