Speakers at panel discussion on leadership and entrepreneurship

Female Entrepreneurial Leadership Panel Discussion

On 27 March, an insightful panel discussion on women’s empowerment and leadership took place in Yerevan. The event, a collaboration between the City College, the University of York Europe Campus, and the British Embassy in Armenia, aimed to explore women’s roles in leadership and entrepreneurship.

The event featured two engaging sessions. First, the discussion focused on women as leaders. Next, the conversation shifted to women in entrepreneurship. These sessions highlighted both the challenges and successes women experience in these roles.

Paul Morris, Deputy Head of Mission and HM Consul, emphasised the British Embassy’s commitment to gender equality. He stated, “We are dedicated to promoting gender balance and supporting women across various fields.”

Professor Leslie Szamosi, Director of the Pan-European MBA programme, moderated the discussions. He drew on research showing that businesses led by women often excel. This research underlined the vital role women play in fostering societal stability.

The discussions provided participants with the opportunity to share their experiences. Additionally, a lively Q&A session addressed key issues about women’s participation in leadership and entrepreneurship.

In conclusion, the panel not only highlighted the essential contributions of women but also encouraged networking and collaboration. The event aimed to foster a supportive environment for future female leaders and entrepreneurs.
