Critical Minerals Study Tour of Armenian Firms in the UK

The British Embassy in Yerevan, in collaboration with the UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT), recently hosted a study tour for Armenian firms focused on “Mineral Processing and Circular Economy.” This event took place in the UK from 11-15 March and aimed to introduce Armenian firms to opportunities in rare earth elements and critical minerals. The tour also aimed to strengthen partnerships between the UK and Armenia.

Throughout the visit, DBT facilitated meetings and site tours at leading organisations, including Cornish Lithium, Camborne School of Mines, and the British Lithium Pilot Plant. Participants also visited the British Geological Survey, HyProMag, and Less Common Metals. In addition, the tour featured business-to-business, business-to-government, and government-to-government meetings to promote cooperation in mineral exploration, processing, and investment.

The Armenian firms engaged with industry leaders and explored potential collaborations in the field of critical minerals. This initiative highlights the ongoing commitment to fostering international business relationships and advancing sustainable practices in the mining sector.

By participating in this study tour, Armenian firms gained valuable insights into the UK’s advancements in mineral processing and established crucial connections for future business opportunities. This tour reflects the growing partnership between the UK and Armenia in the critical minerals sector.
