The British Embassy in Yerevan proudly announced the participation of an Armenian delegation in UK FinTech Week, held from April 17 to 21, 2023. The British Embassy, acting as a key sponsor of the event, alongside the UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT), extended an invitation to the Central Bank of Armenia and Armenia Securities Exchange to join the official UK delegation.
The Innovate Finance Global Summit (IFGS) was the highlight of UK FinTech Week. This prestigious gathering brought together FinTech leaders, regulatory bodies, policymakers, academics, and media representatives from across the globe. The Armenian delegation, led by Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia, Mr. Hovhannes Khachatryan, and CEO of Armenia Securities Exchange, Mr. Hayk Yeganyan, participated in several pivotal events. These sessions provided the delegation with valuable insights into global regulatory and policy practices, and they also explored the UK’s FinTech expertise. Additionally, the delegates had exclusive networking opportunities with potential investors and key players in the industry.
The participation in UK FinTech Week offered the Armenian delegation a comprehensive understanding of innovative technologies and best practices that can accelerate the growth of the FinTech sector in Armenia. Moreover, it paved the way for further development of Armenia’s domestic financial market.
