Imagine shadowing the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Armenia for an entire day. This unique experience allows one to attend official meetings and gain a deep understanding of the British Embassy’s operations in Armenia.
Nune Mosikyan, a 19-year-old student from the American University of Armenia, won the “Ambassador for a Day” competition hosted by the British Embassy. She had the extraordinary chance to step into the shoes of the UK Ambassador and spend a day immersed in diplomacy and international relations.
During her visit, Nune met with Ambassador John Gallagher and engaged in insightful discussions on women’s empowerment and business ties between the UK and Armenia. Additionally, she met female beneficiaries, including those displaced from Nagorno Karabakh, at the UK-supported CreLab in Kotayk. She also participated in a meeting at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Armenia, focusing on women’s empowerment and the humanitarian situation of displaced persons.
Moreover, Nune visited SADA, an Insight company renowned for cloud consultancy and technical services and an award-winning provider of Google Cloud solutions. She had a productive meeting with the Embassy staff and attended a reception organised by the British Council for alumni of the UK’s prestigious universities in Armenia.
By the end of this busy day, Nune acknowledged that while being an ambassador is challenging, the experience was incredibly fulfilling and educational.
