ABBC meeting with the UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Country Director and Trade Counsellor in Russia, Mr. Stuart Hatch

On April 11th, 2023, the Armenian British Business Chamber Board of Directors met with the  UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Country Director and Trade Counsellor in Russia, Mr. Stuart Hatch. The DBT is the UK Government’s principal agency responsible for striking and extending trade agreements, as well as for encouraging foreign investment and export trade.

With the prime goal of maximising the trade and investment opportunities between Armenia and the UK, Mr. Hatch was eager to get a better understanding of challenges and opportunities Armenia faces, conditioned by spillovers from Russia’s war in Ukraine, e.g., inflows of capital and remittances, relocation of businesses and individuals.

Among other topics of discussion, the meeting was an excellent opportunity to present the general business and investment climate in Armenia and discuss the opportunities that might be unlocked for British companies that decide to enter the local market.
